How to apply?
Our formal program occurs during the traditional academic year, from September to June, in line with your local school district’s academic calendar. To apply or receive additional information such as scheduling and/or application timetable coordination, please contact your school’s Guidance Counselor or the Social Action Chair of the Mu Mu Nu Chapter at socialaction@NorthHoustonQues.org. Applications need to be received by August 1st if you would like to participate in this academy. Click the link below to download the application.
There is no enrollment fee or monthly dues for participation in the OGYA. A limited number of specific events and/or activities may require parent/guardian financial support, at which a fee may be required. Parents/guardians will be informed of such events and fees at least two weeks prior to the event by the OGYA Leadership Team.
The prospective participant will be a high school student from high schools in the North Houston area and recommended by their School Guidance Counselor or a member of Mu Mu Nu Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity (MMN). Their Guidance Counselor or the Fraternity member making the recommendation to determine whether class schedule and extracurricular activities afford him an opportunity to participate in the program will interview prospective participants informally. The prospective participant should have a 2.5 GPA (exceptions may be possible for special cases based on school counselor or fraternity recommendation), should be a member of different organizations in a leadership role, and attend church. They must also have a goal to attend a College/University/Technical school upon graduation.
